Amid wild celebrations from City players and coaching staff, manager Pep Guardiola ran onto the field, pumped his fists and jumped in delight […]

Romelu Lukaku probably hasn’t found his lack of goalscoring form particularly amusing.
The Belgian forward has scored just once in his has eleven games and missed a glorious chance against Watford last night so compound his current problems.
How did you mess that one up, Rom?Man United won the game at Vicarage Road 4-2 and so Jose Mourinho thought it appropriate to joke about Lukaku’s poor form.
The Old Trafford boss responded to questions about the 24-year-old’s performance by slating his unbranded, all black boots.

“That’s why he’s playing in black boots.”

The veteran’s deflected strike sealed the points over Brighton on Saturday, and he produced two stunners on Tuesday to help down his former side.

The 32-year-old appeared to be on his way out of Old Trafford earlier this year, but he has become one of the first names on Mourinho’s team sheet this season.
And the ‘Special One’ believes that Young is performing “better than ever” for his side.
He told Match of the Day: “Ashley Young trains at free-kicks and his conversion rate in training is good, so it was good he had the confidence to try it, after scoring the first goal.
“I was surprised that Paul Pogba gave him permission.
“At his age, Young’s playing better than ever and I couldn’t be more happy with him.”

LONDON — Only a third of the way into its Premier League campaign, Manchester City is already making history. Pep Guardiola’s City defeated Huddersfield 2-1 Sunday to equal a club record 11th straight league win. City also moved to 37 points from 13 games — the highest ever points total at this stage of a […]

Praise the lord for La Liga subtitles.
Because this season they’ve enlightened a completely different and more personal angle to some of the best players on the planet.

Yep, that’s well overMessi’s shot was spilled by Valencia goalkeeper Neto, who desperately tried to claw the ball away – but cameras showed it was too late.
Only the officials failed to spot the clear daylight between the ball and the goal line, ultimately costing Barca victory as the top of the table clash finished 1-1.
Messi and Luis Suarez were understandably incensed by the decision, berating the linesman for such an obvious mistake.
Messi couldn’t believe the decisionReutersAnd La Liga subtitles believe they’ve picked up what the duo said.
Messi, after throwing his arms up in the air in disbelief, was desperate to extend communication with the official, allegedly asking if they could talk.
He then tried to reiterate his point, pointing to where the linesman should have been to see the call.
Suarez was much stronger with his response though.
The Uruguayan striker shouted at the linesman, reportedly calling him a ‘bottler’ and ‘midget s***.’
Yikes.
The draw preserved both sides’ unbeaten starts to La Liga this season, but Barca will know it could and should have been a lot better.

The brilliant Brazilian has captured the hearts and minds of Reds supporters all over the world with some dazzling displays in recent years.
But for once it wasn’t Coutinho who left me purring on Saturday.

Liverpool’s entertaining draw with Chelsea was really only about one man, despite the best efforts of Mohamed Salah against his former club.
Eden Hazard terrorised and toyed with a shaky Liverpool defence for the full 90 minutes, only to be let down a number of times by his inferior team-mates.
The Belgian is back to his blistering best now after a season curtailed by the broken ankle he suffered in the summer.
EPA Hazard was brilliant at Anfield[/caption]
And that’s a daunting prospect for defences across Europe.
Hazard’s international compatriot Kevin De Bruyne has deservedly taken most of the plaudits this season, with many tipping him for the major PFA Player of the Year gong come May.
But no player comes close to the clutch Hazard can switch on at any moment.
Hazard’s record in the bigger games also speaks for itself.
Reuters The only way to stop him[/caption]
In the last 18 months he’s scored against Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.
If Liverpool can reject a £120m plus bid from Barcelona for Coutinho, I dread to think what Chelsea could turn down for Hazard.
On Saturday only one of the two creative geniuses on show came to the fore while the other was marshalled out of the game.

Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane still hold an interest and the winger has consistently fluttered his eyelashes at the European champions in recent seasons.
And on the weekend’s evidence, Real are going after the right man.

We’re not going to ask you what you were doing at 16, because we don’t want to hear the answer.
But what we do know is that, unless you are Nuri Sahin, you weren’t playing in the Bundesliga.
But Sahin is no longer the only 16-year-old to appear in Germany’s top flight after Yann Aurel Bisseck started for Cologne against Hertha Berlin.
CLAIM YOUR FREE £20 BET Sun Bets are offering this great offer when you sign up and bet a fiver Sixteen years youngAt the age of 16 years, 11 months and 18 days Bisseck is technically the youngest German player to feature in a Bundesliga game.
We say technically because Nuri Sahin was younger when he first played for Borussia Dortmund.
However Sahin has since gone on to play for the Turkish national team so, in football terms, Bisseck is now the youngest German.
Bisseck has been starring for Cologne’s Under-19 side and has made two appearances for Germany’s Under-17 side.
Despite an impressive win against Arsenal in the Europa League Cologne are bottom of the Bundesliga with just two points.
What better time to throw a 16-year-old into first-team action than when a side are looking for their first win of the season, having been routinely thrashed?
Gulp.
When referee Brighton Chimene blew the whistle to signal the end of the match at the National Sports Stadium yesterday, Dynamos players hung their heads in disappointment.

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has given Jose Mourinho’s ego an almighty Kung-Fu kick by claiming he’d prefer City’s Pep Guardiola to manage his former club.
The Frenchman – who played for the Red Devils between 1992 and 1997 – had plenty of nice things to say about Mourinho, but claims his defensive style clashes with the club’s “identity”.

Speaking to BBC Radio Four’s Today programme, Cantona said: “He is playing in this defensive way, which is not the identity of Manchester United.

Chipping into the debate further, King Eric added: “I cannot understand why United would take a manager who plays in a defensive way.
“I love Mourinho, but I prefer to watch Barcelona play.
“I prefer the way Guardiola plays, and I would prefer him as manager of Manchester United, it’s more logical.
“I don’t watch Man City because it’s Man City, but I would love to watch the team managed by Guardiola.”

These frank words from such a prominent figure of United’s past will likely irk Mourinho, who’s seemingly been in a career-long battle with Guardiola.
The pair have clashed many times and have a fierce rivalry, but are seemingly polar-opposites when it comes to philosophy and tactics.

To put it very simply; Guardiola is famed for setting his team’s up to play a possession-based, pass-pass-pass, style of football which is easy on the eye, while Mourinho focuses more on a team’s shape, strength and organisation.

However, in the Premier League this season – the second year the two have been face-to-face in England – United find themselves trailing their bitter cross-city rivals in the table by eight points.
City have won an astounding 17 consecutive matches – scoring 54 goals in all competitions – and have been universally praised for their attacking style of football.
Over to you, Mourinho.
