Dream Team FC
Martin Keown couldn’t hide his saltiness during Alexis Sanchez’s Man United debut

It’s always nice to watch a live game on BBC every so often, isn’t it?

Watching football on terrestrial tele is a bit of a collector’s item these days, after all.

But one major drawback of following FA Cup action on the BBC is having to sit through Martin Keown’s god-awful commentary.

The former Arsenal centre-back – who’s perhaps better known for squaring up to Ruud van Nistelrooy all those years ago, rather than his ability as a defender – is fairly intolerable when it comes to match day coverage.

And in Manchester United’s FA Cup fourth round clash against Yeovil this evening – in which former Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez made his debut for the club – he reached new levels of salty and bitter.

It seems the Chilean could do nothing right in the eyes of the Arsenal legend, despite easily being United’s most creative player on the night and duly earning the Man of the Match award (which, to be fair, Keown awarded through gritted-teeth.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the best from Twitter.

It’s amazing how pundits morph into unbelievable players when they finish playing? Keown slagging off some of the Utd lads touch/control is bizarre! He had the technical ability of a square wheel.

I’d rather listen to a tape recording of my parents having sex than be subjected to Martin Keown commentating on #MUFC

Sending happy thoughts to Martin Keown. He's having a very upsetting Friday night. Cheer up fella.

This Keown agenda against Sanchez is ruining your coverage of tonight’s game. @BBCSport

I think Keown is going ott with some of his comments re Sanchez. Said the Chilean was ‘ignoring’ Rashford, when it was Sanchez who looked for Rashford for the goal. Sanchez the best and most creative player in the first 45 mins.

If you had a shot every time Martin Keown said something out of bitterness about Sanchez you'd be hammered by now. #MUFC

Even the FA Cup’s official Twitter account thought the idiot with the mic was being overly salty.

Despite what Keown would have you believe, Sanchez started his United career off by playing a key role in the opening goal.

Just before half-time, the 29-year-old used his pace and strength to break into the Yeovil box, cut inside the defence and pick out Marcus Rashford in the middle.

And as the back-line hesitated to clear the ball, Rashford was happy to slot home from a mere three yards out.

Fairly pleasing debut, we reckon.
